Scientific works and projects elaborated in UIAR at present time:

• Radiation protection of the Environment. The radionuclides behavior in the Environment and their impact to biota.

• Study of 137Cs behavior in the peat-bog soils with the abnormal high bioavailability.

• Study and prognosis of contamination with 90Sr and 137Cs of fish in the reservoirs of the Exclusion zone and Zone of unconditional resettlement at the late phase of the Chornobyl accident.

• Assessment of the transformation dynamics of the fuel component of the radioactive fallout in the bottom sediments of the ChNPP cooling pond depending on the scenarios of intervention.

• Monitoring of the radioecological safety of production of AIC of Ukraine.

• Scientific substantiation, maintenance and systematization of the data of radiological control of the agricultural production manufactured at the territories contaminated as a result of the Chornobyl catastrophe.

• Elaboration of recommendations for agricultural production and application of the countermeasures in the cases of the nuclear and radiation accidents.

• Return of the alienated radioactive contaminated territories to the economical utilization for production of the bioenergetics resources.

• Monitoring of agricultural lands and of radioecological safety of production of agriculture of Ukraine;

• Study of impacts of the Chernobyl fallout radionuclides to organisms and ecosystems;

• Support of plant cultivation and stock-raising at the radioactive contaminated territories;

• Optimization of countermeasures implementation for reduction of radioactive contamination of agricultural production and for minimization of the radiation doses to population;

• Remediation of the radioactive contaminated territories;

• Drafting the projects of the normative documents, creation of the migration models, databases and the decision support systems to be used in the case of the nuclear accident.
